It is with great pleasure that we can provisionally announce that we are planning for our Saturday auctions to return on Saturday the 20th June subject to any further government guidelines.
We will be laying out further details on how these will return in the coming days and there will be a number of changes to the normal operations so please ensure you keep visiting the news section on our Website for more detailed updates.

Stanfords Offices and Professional Practice
Stanfords remains open with most members of staff working from home to ensure work is still completed. The office is closed to the public apart from prearranged meetings essential to work being completed.
Please ring the office or direct to the staff member where possible and we will be able to assist you with any enquiries.
Following government guidelines the Sales and Lettings team will not be conducting any viewings, inspections or valuations. The Phone lines will be manned for all essential maintenance and property management calls.
The Livestock Market will continue as long as allowed and to ensure this is possible we must follow the Government policies. Please follow the following guidelines to allow us to trade and sell your stock during the current situation.
The Following are the rules we are working under
With immediate effect LAA members MUST implement a “drop and go” policy for vendors bringing stock to market for sale.
Only Primestock, Cull Animals and Store stock are allowed for sale. No Breeding stock is allowed on site.
Members must implement a “drop and go” policy for vendors.
This action is to prevent any sellers from entering the market.
Vendors MUST be instructed to deliver their animals to the loading docks (remaining in their vehicles) whilst the market staff unload the vehicle and take the animals to their pens.
The sale documentation MUST be collected by the auctioneers staff from the vendor’s vehicle when they arrive at the unloading docks – Vendors MUST NOT take the paperwork to the market office themselves, or enter the market pennage area for any reason.
Vehicle washing is encouraged to be done at home and not on the Market site with a limit of only 1 vehicle to be allowed to wash at any one time.
All Vendors must remain in their vehicle with the exception of washing out. Vendors are not able to stay and watch their stock sold but are able to leave reserve prices for their stock should they wish to.
The LAA appreciates that this will create many challenges – no more so than developing a system by which the vendor can accept or reject the price offered at the time of sale.
Unfortunately, if we want to stay in business and protect everyone from the virus we need to find and implement solutions to these challenges.
The number of buyers MUST be restricted to allow Social Distancing (2 meters between each buyer). The number of buyers able to attend may be different between markets, depending upon the size and layout of your sale pens and/or sale rings, and will result in some markets being able to manage slightly more buyers than others.
Markets MUST keep a register of those that attend their sales – contact name, address and telephone number.
At the conclusion of the sale buyers MUST be asked to enter the sales office in a way that does not result in too many entering at any one time.
Buyers should be asked to sanitise on entry to the market and again on exit.
In addition to this The Café will be shut.
